Scorch Mission
Who is Scorch?
Scorch is the DI Women's Ultimate Frisbee Team at the University of Arizona and is one of the teams in the Desert section of the Southwest Region of USA Ultimate.
Scorch plays at a competitive level with other high-level athletes. The team is commitment-driven, working towards becoming a top seed in the Southwest region. Scorch focuses on strengthening and growing as players, inside and outside of practice, to better compete and perform as athletes. The team strives for consistent improvement in all players throughout the season. Everyone's hard work and incessant effort translates into the score of each game and into the outcome of our season.
In recent years, Scorch has traveled to San Diego, Santa Barbara, Stockton, Albuquerque, Denver, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Austin.
Scorch has won the Desert Section Championship in the Spring several times and regularly appears at Regionals.
Interested?
Since not many women come to college knowing about Ultimate as an actual sport, the entire Fall semester is devoted to teaching the game to all who are willing to learn. During this time, Scorch travels to nearby tournaments to practice, train, and prepare for the official Ultimate season in the Spring.
New players are always welcome, no matter how late in the season it is!
Scorch is:
-Competitive
-Involved
-Empowering
-Transformative
-Committed
-Driven
-Focused
-Here for good times all around

sunburnOur Ultimate family doesn't stop at Scorch. We also have our brothers on Sunburn, the men's team. Scorch and Sunburn often travel to the same tournaments and have created a lasting bond over the years.
